Running Operations on George Sellios’s F&SM Railroad
George SelliosDescription
George Sellios’s HO layout of Franklin & South Manchester Railroad was a long time coming for fans of model railroading. Modelers everywhere who included George’s intricate structures in their own layouts wondered when the master would construct a layout of his own, and the day finally came with the first unveiling of the town of Manchester, a 22’x7′ layout set in 1935 Boston.
While at the time not fully completed, George’s F&SM fast became one of the world’s greatest model railroad layouts for its historical accuracy and breathtaking attention to detail. Host Allen Keller visited George’s studio at Fine Scale Mechanics to get a sneak preview of George’s progress, and he got to witness a test run of Engine 3553 as it made its way along the rails from downtown Manchester to the soon-to-be staging yard in Dovertown. We guarantee you’ll be amazed by this spectacular railroad!
