Cliff Powers

Touring the Mississippi, Alabama & Gulf

Cliff Powers
Duration:   6  mins

Description

Here on the HO scale Mississippi, Alabama & Gulf model railroad of Cliff Powers, the tour begins as F units pass Crandel’s Store and Roscoe’s Engine Repair. The line crosses the Pearl River over the swing bridge and enters Mississippi at the Graves Pulp Mill. At Edna, Engine Number 4019 rolls by Shram Manufacturing at Colin’s Oil. In downtown Edna, the ABBA set is behind Crocker Brothers Feed Mill. Then it passes the Barnstead Lumber Company and Margaret’s store appears on the outskirts of Edna. Here the line runs through the piney woods, which are long leaf yellow pines. The F-3’s create a pretty picture crossing the Jordan River. This typical Mississippi scene is at the River Bend trading post with its acres of soybeans cows enjoying the pond at the farm.

The F units run under the Garlit’s Bridge and then around a baptist church. This town is famous for the Hines Lumber Company Saw Mill. This saw mill processes hundreds of logs every day. The log pond keeps the mill supplied. Number 4019 crosses State Route 53 at the bridge with the Wolf River on the approach to Wharton. The line passes the pine belt meat packing stock. The red building is the slaughterhouse and in the foreground are the section houses and a water tank. The 4 F units roll by Anne’s Antiques and the Dabler Feed Mill. The F-3’s run through downtown Wharton. To complete the tour, watch the full video. Watch more from Allen Keller’s Great Model Railroad series check out more Model Railroad Academy videos.
